Must read (click here)!!
I wish more african american women took more pride in our natural tresses. I relaxed my hair for years and all for nothing. It does take a little more care the relaxed hair but I wish I had done it sooner. The above link is to an article from the New York Times. I'm definitely 100% more confident about wearing my natural hair whereas a year ago I would have never thought of going natural. Anyway, Cheers to all the natural sisters out there!

I'm back to doing Bantu knot outs. we'll see how this comes out. I'll be stepping out for a drink later and I'll post a couple of pics before I leave. Here's my hair washing regime:
1. I usually wash with Carol's Daughter Transition 1-2-3 kit. Which I must say I absolutely love it!!!!
2. I dry my hair with a T-shirt, detangle, put in Shea Moisture leave in or wash out conditioner.
3. I then seal with castor oil.
4. Then I part in sections and apply a mixture of Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Eco Styler Gel with Olive Oil and a little Coconut oil.
5. Then I start twisting into bantu knots and for now pin them with bobby pins. I still have relaxed ends :-(
Until later.

Trouble in Hair-adise!
Hi all! Ok, I flat ironed my hair and was way too embarrassed to upload the pic. Not a good look. So I have my satin bonnet on because I just washed and two strand twisted my hair. I put perm rods on the ends so my ends wouldn't be straight.
I didn't want to show my whole head because on my left side my edges are still kind of scarce. So I have to run some errands so I guess I'm going to let it air dry. I was going to sit under the dryer but I don't want to stay inside any longer. I'll post more pics later. Please submit pics of your hair do's. Good and bad outcomes. I'll be posting more helpful links as opposed to pics of my hair journey.

I would like to share what I call my good luck supplement, Biotin. It has been a great help to me in regaining thicker tresses. I did not see results until about a month after taking them everyday religiously but it definitely works for your hair, skin and nails. I take one pill a day and the pill is 10,000 mcg. Remember to drink a lot of water while taking Biotin. Some people have complained of getting acne from Biotin but I've not had that happen. Please do your own research when thinking about trying a supplement. What works for me may not work for you. Check out the link below from WebMD.

Welcome me!
I am new to this blogging world and just wanted to get my feet wet. I just started my natural hair journey in December of 2012. Although I thought I would give up and go back to hair crack, the condition of my hair would not let me. Relaxers had me almost bald around my hairline. I was embarrassed and determined to nurse my hair back to health. My hairdresser was no help. She was more concerned with money than the health of my hair. So anyone that has been struggling with this natural hair thing, feel free to send me your pics, opinions or helpful hints. Trust and believe I'm going to put out as much information as I can. Until next time lovelies! This is me transitioning from my last relaxer. This is also sans makeup and after a bad rod set lol. I'm going out tonight so I have no idea how I'm going to fix this..smh. Until later...I'm going to post pre going out pics. I'm excited! I've also noticed that I've gotten hit on more with natural hair than relaxed hair..go figure!
